‘Looked like a missile going down': Desantis describes ‘cataclysmic' plane crash in Palm Beach — Jupiter Government news

Gov. Ron DeSantis described a business jet crash in Palm Beach County as “cataclysmic,” saying the aircraft appeared like a missile coming down and left a large crater near the roadway. Nine people were killed Sunday when a Learjet 60 crashed into a residential neighborhood in Greenacres. Gov. DeSantis spoke with reporters hours after the crash. “Obviously, this was a cataclysmic plane crash,” Gov. DeSantis said. “It looked like a missile going down. It left a big crater on the side of the road.” I think people will recognize this as a major tragedy, the governor added. The crash also displaced hundreds of people near a mobile home park. District 3 Commissioner Joel Flores said officials were working to ensure about 600 people affected by the crash had a safe place to stay Sunday night. “So we have about 600 people that we have to make sure that they have shelter tonight,” Flores said. Flores said the Red Cross was standing by to provide additional services
